A stereotype is a standardized idea of a specific group of people
or objects.Stereotypes are the generalization of characteristics; they reduce
complexity, provide stability and also can offer opportunities to identify
oneself with others.Racism can more narrowly refer to a system of oppression. Several things could be done to alleviate racial tensions and stereotypes
that lead to problems in society. First thing is to teach our children about
loving their fellow man at a young age. When we are born, we don't see a
difference in each other. Hate for another is a learned behavior and if
parents would discontinue the transferance of racism from on generation to
another it will eventually die out. Secondly, we can make an effort. reach
out and learn as much as we can about people that are different from us
instead of making rash criticisms and assumptions about them.
